Abstract

Our life is in a hinge time, and different sensitivities come together to think and act. We explore various ways of making the unrepresentable visible, under the question of what for. To ex-pose in the context of Latin American precariousness, social unrest and museums in a pandemic, entails a paramuseal bet. In this context, various museotopies emerge as instituting practices; they re-present their demands and interpellations, profaning quotidian and public space-times —such as digital and urban surfaces— in a culturally mixed and extradisciplinary aesthetic and operation. This paper is established by a critical review that ranges from the déottian “speculative exhibition”, with Lyotard's “Les Inmateriaux”, to the paramuseal, as critical profanatory action, heterotopic ex-position and “out of the mind” instituting practice. In “Profanations or the critical representation of the paramuseal”, we address two Latin American museotopies: Buntinx's Micromuseo and Sandra Gamarra's LiMac. From what was ex-posed in the social outburst, we particularly analyse the @museodeladignidad and the @museo.en.resistencia as paramuseal “site” actions and immaterial platforms. These four self-managed practices, ephemeral and changing, dismiss and re-institute to, in times to come, make their voice and testimony to be heard.
