Abstract

Ruins gain a current sense as they are re-signified in present times. The objective of this article is to present a reflection from the experience of designing interpretative means for the Interpretation Plan in the saltpeter works of Santiago Humberstone and Santa Laura. Proposals made were thought for those who are today visitors-inhabitants in these spaces. This project enabled, in turn, provide the ruins with a present and a future by means of a re-significance that, once more, generates hospitality in what is habitable.
