Abstract

Macondo is one of the most recognized conceptual urban references in world literature, known for its ability to synthesize and critique Latin American historical realities through fictional construction. This characteristic provides numerous possibilities for study within the fields of architecture and urban planning, areas where in-depth studies utilizing information from literary works have not been extensively conducted. For this reason, research was conducted employing an interdisciplinary methodology that identifies correspondences and divergences between narrative and urban logics, linking them to the material and constructive aspects. Based on these findings, a cartographic and planimetric representation of the dual entity Macondo/Aracataca was developed, where fictional creation and its material reference engage in dialogue and articulation. The usefulness of conceptual frameworks as instruments for interdisciplinary mediation is affirmed, and further stages of the research are proposed.
