Abstract
This article introduces the approaches of the trend known as Art Integrated into Architecture that developed in the late sixties in Chile. Taking as an emblematic case the Santa Lucía Underpass of 1969, declared a Historical Conservation Monument in 2021.
This way of making art is relevant in disciplinary historiography, because it demonstrates a culminating moment in the interdisciplinary relationships of Chilean contemporary art, within the context of South American constructive art. Also known as geometric abstraction art and kinetic art. The study methodology of this work explains the use of the theories of the psychology of perception, as well as the interest of the artists of the time to be part of the industrial and technological processes, from their own vision.
The main relevance of this work is the way in which it reflects the capacity achieved by Chilean art to integrate into architecture, coming to be considered as part of our heritage and identity.
